Giappone

Arata Fuchi takes inspiration for his jewellery making from the Japanese sense of beauty, that is to say the beauty of form that is created by nature, as opposed to artificial beauty, from organic life, versus inorganic. To express this concept, the artist has researched and developed his own interpretation of the South Korean technique known as Keum Boo. Through experimentation, trial and error, he has also created an original technique that he calls pulverization. This technique involves covering the surface of the object with silver powder, so as to make the surface rough and uneven. The object takes on a completly different aspect and almost resembles pumice stone.
