Alexandra Serpa Pimentel Born in Lisbon 1954, Portugal. Lives and works in Lisbon.

Academic Qualifications:
1972-73 "Foundation Course" at Oxford Polytechnic, Oxford England.
1973-76 B.A. Honours Degree in Jewellery Design, Central School of Art and Design, London, England.

Professional Experience :
1976-77 Freelancer at the workshops "401 1/2" and "Lot 90", London, England.
1978 Founder and teacher of the Jewellery Department at the ar.co - Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual, Lisbon, Portugal.
1984 Opens the Gallery/Workshop "Artefacto 3", Lisbon, Portugal.
1990 Invited to participate as a member of the jury at the Jewellery Competition "Cultura e Desenvolvimento", promoted by the Instituto da Juventude and by the Clube Português de Artes e Ideias.
1993 Invited by the Instituto Cultural de Macau to run a Workshop on Enamel Techniques at the Academia de Arte de Macau. Opens the new Galery "Artefacto 3”.
1995/96 Teaches enamel Techniques at ar.co’s Summer Courses, Lisbon, Portugal.
1997 Guest speaker on the subject of Portuguese Contemporary Jewellery as part of the "5th Meeting of the Parlement Lycéen Européen", which was held at Escola Secundária António Arroio, Lisbon, Portugal.
Conference at Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga on the subiect “Portuguese Contemporary Jewellery”.
Portuguese Contemporary Jewellery adviser for the Dictionaire International des Bijoux, Éditions du Régard, Paris.
1998 Leaves Gallery Artefacto 3, and opens her own workshop.
2004 Becomes a member of the board of the newly founded Pin – Portuguese Association of Contemporary Jewellers
