Rita Marcangelo

Her latest works explore the concept of metamorphosis and transformation of materials. She is fascinated by the potential that certain materials have to change from their initial aspect so that the final result is totally different. In these pieces, she achieves transformation through the manipulation of silk. The change affects the dimensions of the material as well as the texture of it, resulting in soft organic forms that contrast with the rigid shapes of the metal.
